Alton (Budd) M. Arrington

Cachetmaker Alton (Budd) M. Arrington created covers for himself, and was also one of the various artists that did artwork for the Stephen Decatur Chapter No. 4, USCS. Budd was a retired Navy Commander and served in the Submarine Service during WWII and his love of submarines is shown through his incredible artwork. In 1983, Budd created a series of covers for the 52 submarines that cruise our oceans “On Eternal Patrol” and these covers are shown on page 3 and 4. The majority of the covers illustrated are from Budd’s original artwork and not from the actual covers themselves. These submarine covers are arranged in hull designation sequence starting on page 6.
Please enjoy these covers that Budd created.
