  7. The Hobby Shop also produced fake postmarks with Type CD-3 postmarks for several British ships. Although the postmarks are dated May 12, 1937 (coronation day of King George VI), they were undoubtedly created in 1941 along with the other Hobby Shop fakes. The ships include HMS COURAGEOUS, GLASGOW (misspelled GLASCOW), GLORIOUS, HOOD, LEANDER, RENOWN, REPULSE, RESOLUTION, REVENGE, RODNEY, SOUTHAMPTON and VALIANT. The cachet is a large line drawing of the ship which covers most of the bottom half of the envelope, with the ship's name printed in the upper left comer. The postmark on the HMS HOOD cover is different from the others, being a larger marking with four long killer bars.
With the exception of HMS HOOD, the style of the postmarks is the same as the other Hobby Shop fakes. Many are also addressed with the usual Hobby Shop Addressograph stencils. The ultimate proof that they are fakes, however, is simply that British Navy ships have never had post offices.
