HISTORICAL NOTE
    The USMC 1st Special Marine Brigade was activated on 28 January 1946 and deactivated on 31 August 1946. It was based out of MCB Quantico VA and MCB Camp Lejuene NC for the purpose of a ready force for expeditionary service.
