This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the ship. There should be a separate set of pages for each name of the ship (for example, Bushnell AG-32 / Sumner AGS-5 are different names for the same ship so there should be one set of pages for Bushnell and one set for Sumner). Other Information
USS UMPQUA earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the National Defense Service Medal (2 awards) during her Naval career.
NAMESAKE - A river in Oregon rising near Roseburg and meandering northwest before emptying into Winchester Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The river in turn was named for the Umpqua Indians, a small tribe of Athabascan linguistic stock.
Three ships of the US Navy have borne the name UMPQUA - USS Umpqua (1865 Monitor), USS Umpqua ATO-25 and USS Umpqua ATA-209.
