Type 7 Examples
The Type 7 has a small dial to the left with "U.S.S." at the top and the ship's name at the bottom, and a series of seven wavy lines about two inches long to the right to cancel the stamp.

The "d" variation indicates that the killer bars are straight instead of wavy. The "i" variation indicates that there is wording or a slogan in the killer. The "t" variation indicates that the ship's name is at the top of the dial. The "(3)" variation indicates that there are three dashes at the bottom of the dial.
The following cancel is classified as Type 7dr
The "d" variation indicates that the killer bars are straight instead of wavy. The "r" variation indicates that the letters of the ship's name are spaced wider than normal.
The following cancel is classified as Type 7qt(2)
The "q" variation indicates that there are only 6 killer bars instead of 7. The "t" variation indicates that the ship's name is at the top of the dial. The "(2)" variation indicates that there are two dashes at the bottom of the dial.
