Other Information

USS SIBONEY earned the China Service Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Navy Occupation Service Medal (w/ "Asia" and "Europe" clasps) and the National Defense Service Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Siboney, Cuba, the town where Americans landed in the Spanish-American War.

The ships sponsor was Mrs. Charles F. Greber.
