The function of the "Go" button is to display a page directly, instead of first having to select it from the search result page. In other words, it allows you to quickly navigate from page to page without following links. To view a page, just enter its name in the search field and click "Go". It is best to use it for unambiguous searches, however, if a direct match fails, it will always fall back to the normal search anyway, but if it succeeds, you are immediately taken where you want to go.

If you enter a value in the search box and click on the "Search" button, the system will show you the Search Results page listing all pages whose title contains the given search value (page title matches) as well as all pages whose content includes the search value (page text matches). Note that at this time, you can only search for whole words, not partial words, and the words must be four characters or longer.

If you click on either the "Go" button or "Search" button when there is no value in the search box, then you will be sent to the Home page.

Note that at the bottom of the Search Results page, there is a set of namespaces with checkboxes next to them. You can select the checkboxes to limit the scope of your search. For example, you could uncheck "(Main)", which is the default scope, and check "Image" and then click the Search button. You will get a list of image pages along with a list of pages that contain an image link.
