Naval Covers

Other Information

USS MONTPELIER has earned the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal w/ 1 bronze star, the Armed Forces Service Medal w/ 1 bronze star, the NATO Medal, the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon w/ 1 bronze star, the Navy "E" Ribbon, the Navy Expeditionary Medal and the Arctic Service Ribbon during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Named for Montpelier, Vermont.

Three ships of the US Navy have borne the name MONTPELIER - USS Montpelier (ex German ship Bochum, 1917-1919) - USS Montpelier CL-57 and USS Montpelier SSN-765.

The ships sponsor is Mrs. Nancy Sununu, wife of John H. Sununu, 75th Governor of New Hampshire (1983–89) and later White House Chief of Staff under President George H. W. Bush.
