Naval Covers

This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the ship. There should be a separate set of pages for each name of the ship (for example, Bushnell AG-32 / Sumner AGS-5 are different names for the same ship so there should be one set of pages for Bushnell and one set for Sumner). Covers should be presented in chronological order (or as best as can be determined).

Since a ship may have many covers, they may be split among many pages so it doesn't take forever for the pages to load. Each page link should be accompanied by a date range for covers on that page.

NAMESAKE - (ARMISTEAD) - George Armistead (10 April 1780 – 25 April 1818) was an American military officer who served as the commander of Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812.

NAMESAKE - (BARBICAN) - The outer defense of a castle or walled city, especially a double tower above a gate or drawbridge.

NAMESAKE - (IVY) - Hedera, commonly called ivy, is a genus of 12–15 species of evergreen climbing or ground-creeping woody plants in the family Araliaceae, native to western, central and southern Europe, Macaronesia, northwestern Africa and across central-southern Asia east to Japan and Taiwan.

Two ships of the US Army have been named in Col. Armistead's honor - USAMP Col. George Armistead (1904) and USAMP Col. George Armistead (1942)

Four cutters have borne the name IVY - IVY (1870), IVY (1881), IVY (1904) and USCGC Ivy WLB-329.
