Other Information

USS ELIZABETH C. STANTON earned the Combat Action Ribbon, the American Campaign Medal, the Europe, Africa Middle East Campaign Medal w/ 4 Campaign stars, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 1 Campaign star, the World War II Victory Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal (with Asia clasp) during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Elizabeth Cady Stanton (November 12 1815 - October 2 1902)
Stanton was one of the foremost leaders in the American suffragist movement and a well-known abolitionist. She authored a resolution which, when accepted by a meeting in Seneca Falls, N.Y., in 1848, became the first organized demand in The United States by women for the ballot. She served as president of the National Woman Suffrage Association from 1865 to 1893. Mrs. Stanton died in New York, N.Y., October 2 1902.
