Point Class 82-foot Patrol Boat Keel Laid - Launched CG 82336 (U.S. Coast Guard) Commissioned 29 August 1962 [Note: Although the U.S. Coast Guard may use "WPB-82336" in its documentation, the identification painted on the ship's hull would have been "CG 82336" (as seen in standard photos of the class for that time period).] USCGC POINT GLASS WPB-82336 Named in January 1964 Decommissioned 3 April 2000 POINT GLASS (Research Vessel) Transferred to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) upon decommissioning POINT GLASS (Training Ship) Sold to Point Glass LLC in 2006 to support the Sea Scout program on the Texas Gulf Coast, part of the Boy Scouts of America, in order to teach navigation and seamanship skills The ship's Facebook page has relevant posts up to 2021. The Point Glass LLC website appears to be gone (2024). Fate unknown

NAMESAKE - Point Glass is located on the east coast of Glass Peninsula, on Admiralty Island, Alaska. It is situated approximately 3 miles southeast of Washburn Peak and 38 miles southeast of Juneau, Alexander Archipelago.
