USS RAMAPO earned the China Service Medal, the American Defense Service Medal, the American Campaign Service Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 1 Battle Star and the World War II Victory Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Named for the Ramapo River a tributary of the Pompton River in southern New York and northern New Jersey.
