Naval Covers

This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the ship. Postmarks

A postmark should not be included unless accompanied by a close-up image and/or an image of a cover showing that postmark. Date ranges MUST be based ONLY ON COVERS IN THE MUSEUM and are expected to change as more covers are added.

Other Information

USS PARCHE earned nine Presidential Unit Citation Ribbons, ten Navy Unit Commendation Ribbons, the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, fifteen Battle "E" ribbons, thirteen Navy Expeditionary Medals, 3 National Defense Service Medals and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon during her 31 year Naval career.
USS PARCH also displayed on her sail, 10 Red/Green Navigational Excellence "N's", nine red Damage Control "DC's", eight white Tactical Efficiency "T's", eight yellow Medical Excellence "M's", seven red Engineering Excellence "E's", seven green Communication Excellence "C's", seven blue Supply Excellence "E's", and six Silver Anchor Awards,

NAMESAKE - A small, gorgeously colored butterfly fish, known for its uncanny ability to swim in and around coral heads and reefs. The fish can find its way through the most intricate passages by swimming upside down or on its side.

The ships sponsor was Mrs. Philip A. Beshany, wife of Adm. Beshany.
