Commissioned January 8 1863 Captain John B. Marchand in command - Decommissioned July 20 1865.
Recommissioned May 7 1866 - Decommissioned February 10 1871
Recommissioned May 8 1872 - Decommissioned April 7 1885
Sold July 30 1887

Named after the Lackawanna River in Pennsylvania.
