USS LST-786/USS GARRETT County earned two (2) Combat Action Ribbons, the Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, two (2) Navy Unit Commendation Ribbons, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal (w/ 2 Battle stars), the World War II Victory Medal, the Navy Occupation Service Medal (with Asia clasp), the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal (w/ 8 Campaign stars), nine (9) Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm Ribbons, the Philippines Liberation Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal during her Naval career.
