USS CHEPACHET earned the American Campaign Medal, the European-African- Middle East Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 2 Battle stars, the World War II Victory Medal, the Navy Occupation Service Medal (with Asia clasp) and the Philippines Liberation Medal w/ 1 bronze star during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Named for the Revolutionary War Battle of Eutaw Springs, South Carolina.

NAMESAKE - Named for the Chepachet River located in the village of Glocester, Rhode Island.

The ships sponsor was Mrs. I.G. Klemmer.
