Naval Covers

This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the ship. NAMESAKE - Joseph John Julius Dobler USNR (November 19 1918 - January 30 1943)
Dobler enlisted in the Naval Reserve December 14 1939 and was appointed Aviation Cadet January 29 1940. On active duty from October 22 1940 with Scouting Squadron 6, in USS ENTERPRISE CV-6. Lieutenant Dobler was killed in action January 30 1943 during the Battle of Rennell Island when American aircraft fought off Japanese air attacks on a task force covering the movement of transports to Guadalcanal
