Other Information

USS PROSERPINE earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the National Defense Service Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Latinized form of Persephone, from Greek mythology; the daughter of Zeus and Demeter, abducted by Hades (Pluto) and made his wife.
