Other Information

USS ZENOBIA earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Minor planet No. 840; the name itself is derived from the Greek word meaning "having life from Zeus." It was also the name of the Queen of Palmyra who reigned from 267 to 272 A.D.

The ships sponsor was Mrs. Lillian V. MacDonald.
