An American explorer who claimed to have been the first person, on 6 April 1909, to reach the geographic North Pole

The Liberty ship "SS Robert E. Peary", the destroyer USS Peary (DD-226), the cargo ship USNS Robert E. Peary T-AKE-5, and the Knox-class frigate USS Robert E. Peary FF 1073 were named in honor of him.
