Naval Covers

This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the ship. There should be a separate set of pages for each name of the ship (for example, Bushnell AG-32 / Sumner AGS-5 are different names for the same ship so there should be one set of pages for Bushnell and one set for Sumner). Covers should be presented in chronological order (or as best as can be determined).

NAMESAKE - Rear Admiral Jeremiah Andrew Denton Jr. (15 July 1924 – 28 March 2014)
        Denton was a U.S. Senator representing Alabama from 1981 to 1987, a United States Navy Rear Admiral and Naval Aviator taken captive during the Vietnam War.
        In June 1943, he entered the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and graduated three years later in the accelerated Class of 1947 on June 5, 1946, with a Bachelor of Science degree. His 34-year naval career included service on a variety of ships and on aircraft, including airships (blimps). His principal field of endeavor was naval operations. He also served as a test pilot, flight instructor, and commanding officer of an attack squadron flying the A-6 Intruder.
        RAdm Denton's military awards include the Navy Cross Medal, the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, the Navy Distinguished Service Medal, the Silver Star Medal w/ two Gold Stars, the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal, the Bronze Star Medal w/ Combat "V" and four Gold Stars, the Purple Heart Medal w/ one Gold Star, the Air Medal w/ Strike/Flight Numeral 2, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal w/ Combat "V", the Combat Action Ribbon, the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Prisoner of War Medal, the Navy Expeditionary Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Navy Occupation Service Medal w/ 'Japan' clasp, the National Defense Service Medal w/ one Bronze Star, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal w/ three silver stars and one bronze star, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation w/ Palm and Frame Ribbon and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. RAdm Denton is also authorized to wear the Naval Aviator Badge.
