Naval Covers

A postmark should not be included unless accompanied by a close-up image and/or an image of a cover showing that postmark. Date ranges MUST be based ONLY ON COVERS IN THE MUSEUM and are expected to change as more covers are added.

NAMESAKE - Named for the city of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Three ships of the US Navy have borne the name for the city of Corpus Christi, TX or related areas.
USS Corpus Christi PF-44, USNS Corpus Christi Bay T-ARVH-1 and USS City of Corpus Christi SSN-705.

The ships sponsor is Mrs. John Tower, wife of John G. Tower, Republican United States senator from Texas.
