This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the
ship. There should be a separate set of pages for each name of the ship (for
example, Bushnell AG-32 / Sumner AGS-5 are different names for the same
ship so there should be one set of pages for Bushnell and one set for Sumner).
Covers should be presented in chronological order (or as best as can be determined).

'''NAMESAKE''' - Nathan Crook Twining USN (January 17 1869 - July 4 1924)<br/>
Twining was appointed a Naval Cadet in 1885 and graduated from the United States Naval Academy on June 7 1889. During the Spanish-American War, he served in [[IOWA IX 6|USS IOWA BB-4]] in Cuban waters and later was executive officer of [[KEARSARGE AB 1|USS KEARSARGE BB-5]] when that ship circumnavigated the globe with the "Great White Fleet." He commanded [[TACOMA CL 20|USS TACOMA C-18]] during the bombardment of Vera Cruz in 1914. During World War I, he served as Chief of Staff for Admiral Sims, Commander of Naval Forces in European waters, and was also a member of the Allied War Council. Rear Admiral Twining retired early in 1923 and died on July 4 1924 at Nantucket, Mass.
