<h3>Naval Covers</h3>
This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the
ship. There should be a separate set of pages for each name of the ship (for
example, Bushnell AG-32 / Sumner AGS-5 are different names for the same
ship so there should be one set of pages for Bushnell and one set for Sumner).
Covers should be presented in chronological order (or as best as can be determined).

Since a ship may have many covers, they may be split among many pages so it doesn't
take forever for the pages to load. Each page link should be accompanied by a date
range for covers on that page.

Ruchmakin graduated from the University of California in 1940 and shortly thereafter, on July 13, enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Appointed Midshipman on September 16, he attended the USNR Midshipman School at Northwestern University and reported to Destroyer [[CUSHING DD 376|USS CUSHING DD-376]] on January 24 1941. On November 13 1942, Lieutenant (junior grade) Ruchamkin was killed during action against Japanese forces off Savo Island, Solomon Islands. He was posthumously awarded The Navy Cross for " ... extraordinary heroism as first lieutenant aboard the USS CUSHING ... While under vigorous bombardment by hostile naval units ... Ruchamkin ... efficiently directed the fighting of fires and the efforts to control damage. Leading his party to an area below decks to extinguish flames which were raging there, he never returned."
