<h3>Naval Covers</h3>
This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the
ship. There should be a separate set of pages for each name of the ship (for
example, Bushnell AG-32 / Sumner AGS-5 are different names for the same
ship so there should be one set of pages for Bushnell and one set for Sumner).
Covers should be presented in chronological order (or as best as can be determined).

Since a ship may have many covers, they may be split among many pages so it doesn't
take forever for the pages to load. Each page link should be accompanied by a date
range for covers on that page.

<h3>Postmarks</h3>
This section lists examples of the postmarks used by the ship. There should be a
separate set of postmarks for each name and/or commissioning period. Within each set,
the postmarks should be listed in order of their classification type. If more than one
postmark has the same classification, then they should be further sorted by date of
earliest known usage.

A postmark should not be included unless accompanied by a close-up image and/or an
image of a cover showing that postmark. Date ranges MUST be based ONLY ON COVERS IN
THE MUSEUM and are expected to change as more covers are added.

'''NAMESAKE''' - Ralph McMaster Rich USNR (January 22 1916 - June 18 1942)<br/>
Rich enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve on October 12 1939 in Minneapolis, Minn. After receiving initial flight training in Minnesota, Aviation Cadet Rich reported for active duty at Pensacola, Fl., on December 28 1939. Designated Naval Aviator on July 12 1940, he was commissioned Ensign on August 16, and assigned to Fighting Squadron (VF) Six in [[ENTERPRISE CV 6|USS ENTERPRISE CV-6]] on November 28. Promoted to Lieutenant (junior grade) on May 28 1942, he led a section of fighters covering the approach of American bombers against the Japanese fleet during the Battle of Midway June 4-6 1942. Lieutenant (j.g.) Rich, killed in an airplane crash on June 18 1942, was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross for "capable and aggressive leadership" which enabled his attack group to "maintain continuous flight over enemy naval units, thereby assuring our dive bombers an unmolested approach." In addition, Lieutenant (jg) Rich is credited with shooting down one enemy torpedo plane while flying on combat air patrol over [[YORKTOWN CV 5|USS YORKTOWN CV-5]] during the Battle of Midway
