Kidd was killed in action on board [[ARIZONA BB 39|USS ARIZONA BB-39]] during Japanese Navy’s [[Pearl Harbor Heroes|Pearl Harbor attack]]. RAdm. Kidd was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during the attack.
