'''NAMESAKE''' - Ens. Henry Russell Kenyon Jr. USN (February 4 1916 - June 5 1942)<br/>
Kenyon flew as a member of Torpedo Squadron 8 from [[HORNET CV 8|USS HORNET CV-8]]. In The Battle of Midway, June 4 1942, he and his comrades took off to attack the enemy fleet without fighter cover. Knowing that they had insufficient fuel to return to the carrier, continued the attack until all were shot down. Ens. Kenyon was presumed dead June 5 1942 and was awarded the Navy Cross posthumously for his heroic actions
