in the "Ship Name and Designation History" section). Within each set, the postmarks
should be listed in order of their classification type. If more than one postmark
has the same classification, then they should be further sorted by date of earliest
known usage.

A postmark should not be included unless accompanied by a close-up image and/or an
image of a cover showing that postmark. Date ranges MUST be based ONLY ON COVERS IN
THE MUSEUM and are expected to change as more covers are added.

'''NAMESAKE''' - First Lieutenant Alexander (Sandy) Bonnyman, Jr., USMCR (May 2 1910 - November 22 1943).<br/>1st Lt Alexander Bonnyman, Jr., USMCR, Executive Officer of the 2d Battalion, 8th Marines' Shore Party, was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously for extreme bravery during the assault on the Japanese bombproof shelter on D+2, Betio Island, Tarawa Atoll, Gilbert Islands.<br/>In addition to the Medal of Honor, Lt. Bonnyman was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars, and the World War II Victory Medal.
