She was an early USCS member (USCS #848), first belonging to the [[Cachet_Maker_USCS_Chapter_23_USS_Porpoise_ \| USS PORPOISE Chapter No. 23, USCS]] in Tacoma, and after it folded, she began working with [[Cachet_Maker_Deane_C_Bartley_ \| Deane C. Bartley]] and the [[Cachet_Maker_USCS_Chapter_2_John_Paul_Jones_ \| John Paul Jones Chapter No. 2, USCS]]. It appears that she created only a few cachets after 1941, most likely because collecting of naval covers fell off dramatically when the war began. In late 1940, she was married to Ray Suttles of Tacoma, and continued to live in the Seattle/Tacoma area for the rest of her life. Ray died in 1993, and Fay was remarried to an Ole Olson, and lived at Federal Way, Washington until her own death on 17 January 2007 .
