<h3>Naval Covers</h3>
This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the
ship. There should be a separate set of pages for each incarnation of the ship (ie,
for each entry in the "Ship Name and Designation History" section). Covers should
be presented in chronological order (or as best as can be determined).

Since a ship may have many covers, they may be split among many pages so it doesn't
take forever for the pages to load. Each page link should be accompanied by a date
range for covers on that page.

<h3>Postmarks</h3>
This section lists examples of the postmarks used by the ship. There should be a
separate set of postmarks for each incarnation of the ship (ie, for each entry
in the "Ship Name and Designation History" section). Within each set, the postmarks
should be listed in order of their classification type. If more than one postmark
has the same classification, then they should be further sorted by date of earliest
known usage.

A postmark should not be included unless accompanied by a close-up image and/or an
image of a cover showing that postmark. Date ranges MUST be based ONLY ON COVERS IN
THE MUSEUM and are expected to change as more covers are added.

'''NAMESAKE''' - Named in Honor of Captain (Co) Cassin B. Young USN (March 6 1894 – November 13 1942) an officer of The United States Navy who was awarded The Medal of Honor for his heroism during the [[Pearl Harbor Heroes|Pearl Harbor attack]]. Young was knocked into the water from his ship [[VESTAL_AR_4|USS VESTAL AR-4]] when [[ARIZONA BB 39|USS ARIZONA BB-39]] exploded. He climbed back aboard and got his ship moved away from the flaming wreckage. In the Solomon Islands campaign, Captain Young commanded [[SAN FRANCISCO CA 38|USS SAN FRANCISCO CA-38]] in the Battle of Cape Esperance and the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal with great distinction. On November 13 1942, during the latter battle, he guided his ship in action with a superior Japanese force and was killed by enemy shells while closely engaging the battleship HIEI. Captain Young was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross for his actions during the campaign and USS SAN FRANCISCO received the Presidential Unit Citation <br/><br/>
