'''Note''' - The US Coast Guard National Museum is currently under construction along the Thames River waterfront in New London, Connecticut, the 80,000-square-foot museum will feature five public decks with three exhibit floors, five thematic experience wings, a rotating gallery for special exhibitions, educational classrooms, and event space. Designed to immerse visitors in the Coast Guard experience, the museum will combine state-of-the-art interactive exhibits with breathtaking views of the waterfront. <h3>Other Information</h3>
'''NAMESAKE''' - Dr. Olivia Juliette Hooker (12 February 1915 – 21 November 2018)<br/>Hooker was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma and was an American psychologist and professor. She was a survivor of the Tulsa race massacre of 1921, and the first black woman to enter the US Coast Guard. During World War II, she became a member of the United States Coast Guard Women's Reserve, earning the rank of Yeoman Third Class during her service. She served in the Coast Guard until her unit was disbanded in mid-1946. Hooker then used her G.I. Bill to obtain her master's degree in psychological services and went on earn her PhD in clinical psychology.<br/>In February 1999, Hooker was bestowed the award of Honorary Chief Petty Officer in the US Coast Guard. The award was presented by the Eighth Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard, Vince Patton. Dr. Hooker joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary at age 95 (2010) and served as an auxiliarist in Yonkers, New York. In 2015, the Olivia Hooker Dining Facility on the Staten Island coast guard facility was named in her honor. A training facility at the Coast Guard's headquarters in Washington, D.C. was also named after her that same year.<br/>Hooker died of natural causes in her home in White Plains, New York on 21 November 2018, at the age of 103.<br/><br/>
The cutters sponsor is Janis Porter, Dr. Olivia Hooker’s goddaughter.

After serving in USS Oregon during the Battle of Santiago, 3 July 1898, Yarnell was commissioned ensign 1 July 1899 and reported to the Asiatic Station. He served in the Philippines during the Aguinaldo Insurrection and on the China Station during the Boxer Rebellion. From Asia Yarnell reported to USS Connecticut at her commissioning and sailed around the world with the Great White Fleet. Next, duty at the Newport Torpedo Station, on CINOLANT's staff, and at the Naval War College occupied him until World War I, when he served at Gibraltar and London. Yarnell then rotated 'between sea and Shore duty until ordered to USS Saratoga September 1927, as prospective commanding officer. He served as captain of the carrier from her commissioning until 17 August 1928, when he was appointed Chief of the Bureau of Engineering as Rear Admiral.<br/>
			From January to April 1930 Admiral Yarnell was Naval Adviser to the American delegation at the London Naval Conference, and in October 1936 he became commander in Chief, Asiatic Fleet, with the rank of Admiral. His tour there was notable for the sagacious and firm manner with which he handled a most explosive international situation. After 3 years' service, Admiral Yarnell was transferred to the Retired List; but, 1 November 1941, as war loomed in the East he was recalled to the office of the Secretary of the Navy as Special Adviser to the Chinese Military Mission. Admiral Yarnell was relieved of active duty 15 January 1943 but returned in June as Head of a Special Section in the Office of Chief of Naval Operations until December 1944, when he again was relieved of active duty.<br/>Admiral Yarnell died 7 July 1959 at Newport, R.I., his home since his retirement. Among the awards and medals earned in his long and distinguished career were the Navy Cross, the Distinguished Service Medal, the Diploma and Decoration of the Companion of the Order of the British Empire, and the Cloud Standard, Second Class, of the Government of China.<br/><br/>
