Official Business

USCS Postmark Catalog states...
"This cover was carried through the Panama Canal on May 7, 1919 by the submarine C-3 (SS-14) as a promotion for a government war bond drive.
Although the ship's name appears in one of the postmarks, the cancels were obviously applied at the post offices in the cities at either end of the canal,
and not aboard the boat.
