FRANCIS RIVER LSMR-525 / LFR-525 earned the Combat Action Ribbon, the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon (3 awards), the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon (2 awards), the American Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the National Defense Service Medal (2 awards), the Korean Service Medal w/ three battle stars, the Vietnam Service Medal w/ ten campaign stars, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Ribbon (14 awards), the United Nations Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - A river in Missouri and Arkansas, and another in Maine.
