Within each set, the postmarks should be listed in order of their classification type. If more than one postmark has the same classification, then they should be further sorted by date of earliest known usage.

A postmark should not be included unless accompanied by a close-up image and/or an image of a cover showing that postmark. Date ranges MUST be based ONLY ON COVERS IN THE MUSEUM and are expected to change as more covers are added.

NAMESAKE - George Washington Campbell (February 9 1769 – February 17 1848)
Campbell was an American statesman being appointed Secretary of the Treasury by James Madison as his last government position.

Six cutters have borne the name CAMPBELL, honoring George Washington Campbell - USRC Campbell (1830 – 1834), USRC Campbell (1834 – 1839), USRC Campbell (1848),
USRC Campbell (1853 – 1875), USCGC Campbell WHEC-32 and USCGC Campbell WMEC-909.
