This section lists the names and designations that the ship had during its lifetime. The list is in chronological order.

  3. RVNS QUI NHON HQ-504
    Leased to the Republic of (South) Vietnam & renamed 1970

  4. VPN QUI NHON HQ-505
    Acquired by the Peoples Republic of Vietnam (Post May 1975) redesignated HQ-505
    Heavily damage, and beached on Collin Reef and sunk 14 March 1988, during the skirmish between
        Vietnamese and Chinese forces at Johnson South Reef in the South China Sea.

USS LST-509 / BULLOCH COUNTY earned the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, the American Campaign Medal, the Europe-Africa-Middle East Campaign Medal w/ 1 Battle star, the World War II Victory Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal w/ 5 Campaign stars, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Ribbon (7 awards), and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - A county in Georgia.
