Naval Covers
This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the ship. USNS LEROY GRUMMAN has earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal and the Armed Forces Service Medal (3 awards) during her Naval Career
NAMESAKE - Leroy Randle Grumman (4 January 1895 - 4 October 1982)
Grumman was a prominent industrialist, aeronautical engineer and test pilot.
The ship was co-sponsored by Mrs. Marion Grumman Phillips, Ms. Florence Grumman Hold and Mrs. Grace Grumman Nelson, daughters of the late Leroy Grumman.
