NAMESAKE - Rear Admiral John Ancrum Winslow (1811 – September 29 1873)
Winslow was an Officer in the United States Navy during The Mexican-American War and The American Civil War.

Three ships of the US Navy have been named in his honor - USS Winslow TB-5, USS Winslow DD-53 and USS Winslow DD-359
