To contribute Naval Covers, we simply need scanned images of the covers. We can scan the covers for you or provide technical details for the type of scans we need. The XML source documents are created by the Museum staff using the scanned images and any information that you can provide. For more information, please view the Cover Submission Guidelines or contact the Curator.
Contributing knowledge is even easier. If, during a visit, you see inaccurate information or believe that information is missing, simply contact the Curator. It is also possible to view the XML source file for any cover in the Collection and check the information for accuracy. Areas that we expect to have the most trouble with are cancel types (Locy types) and cachet sponsor / designer / director / artist information.
A notation will be made in the XML source document of each cover that a contributor adds to the Collection or provides updated information for. The contributor will also be added to the Museum's Hall of Contributors.
