Added an example of a PPB (Parcel Post Box) cancel to the Locy System section.

November 12, 2000

Added the following indices to the Main Gallery:
  1. Covers associated with a U.S. ship - Grouped by ship designation and hull number
  2. Covers grouped by cancel date and then ship name
  3. Covers recently added or updated
  4. Covers in order of addition to the Collection

Changed the "Recent" button on the Main Gallery navigation bar to "Sequence".

Added the "Covers grouped by cancel type and then ship name" index to the Main Gallery.

October 29, 2000

Added an example of a Type 10 cancel to the Locy System page and comparison chart.

October 28, 2000

Added the Symbols, Features, and Historical Interests indices to the Main Gallery.

Added a link to the Aircraft Carrier Study Group in the Links page.

The Museum is now established on the Internet. Only 43 covers are currently in the Collection and only some of the indexes are working, but enough is present to be useful and provide a flavor of what's to come. However, for the next couple of months new functions and covers will be added slowly in order to test the architecture and performance and receive your feedback.

Following this shakedown period, we will finish the remaining indexes and then add new covers on a continual basis.

Associations:

  1. Covers associated with a U.S. ship - Grouped by ship name

Cachets:

  1. Covers grouped by cachet category / sub-category
  2. Covers grouped by cachet sponsor / director / artist

Cancels:

  1. Covers grouped by ship name and then cancel type

The following indexes are still under construction:

Associations:

  1. Covers associated with a U.S. ship - Grouped by ship designation and hull number
  2. Covers not associated with a ship - Grouped by association description
  3. Covers associated with a non-U.S. ship - Grouped by country and ship name

Cachets:

All indexes completed.

Cancels:

  1. Covers grouped by cancel type and then ship name
  2. Covers grouped by cancel date and then ship name

Historical

  1. Covers grouped by historical interest and then ship name

Symbols:

  1. Covers grouped by symbol and then ship name

Features:

  1. Covers grouped by feature and then ship name

Recent:

  1. Covers grouped by update date and then ship name
