The Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships is an excellent site providing histories of U.S. Naval vessels.
The Submarine Technology Through the Years site provides short descriptions for the earliest submarines. It also provides links to pages describing the more modern submarines.
The Naval Historical Center is the official history site for the United States Department of the Navy.
The World Warships site "provides fleet lists of all the major and most minor navies in the world, along with photographs and naval related forums."
The U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers site of the U.S. Navy provides facts and history related to aircraft carriers.
My friends in the fourth grade of Maplewood Elementary in Indiana found the following excellent sites and highly recommend their links pages. Thanks Maplewood!
The USS James Monroe SSBN-622 site is "dedicated to the brave men who, during the Cold War, served their nation in the Silent Service. It is especially dedicated to the crew of the USS James Monroe SSBN 622 submarine."
The USS Hardhead (SS-365) site is dedicated to the submarine and its crew - particularly with respect to reunions and photos.
The Submarine Force Museum in Groton, Connecticut "maintains the world's finest collection of submarine artifacts" and is "the home of the historic submarine Nautilus."
If you know of a reasonably stable web site that might be of interest to Museum visitors, please contact the Curator. The Museum does not have any plans to provide links to cover dealers or any other retail establishment.
